In 2022, the All Babies program expanded into Kebbi. The program is active in 505 clinics across 16 of Kebbi’s LGAs. It is a privilege to partner with Kebbi State in order to incentivize and promote childhood vaccinations. So far, over 109,000 babies from Kebbi have been enrolled in the program.

In 2023, NI-ABAE began holding State and LGA Award ceremonies in appreciation of our partners' achievements in increasing childhood immunization rates and saving lives. In May 2024, NI-ABAE staff and stakeholders—including  a representative of the Executive Secretary, State Primary Health Care Development Agency (SPHCDA), a representative of the Commissioner for Health, partners from the Sultan Foundation, UNICEF, and AFENET, and traditional leaders—gathered in Saffar Conference Hall, Birnin, Kebbi, to present ₦150,000 awards in five categories to Kebbi’s highest-performing LGAs:

• Yauri LGA received the Enrollments Award for its 6,955 enrollments, which constituted the highest percentage uptake of infants enrolled in Kebbi in Q4 2023.
• As the LGA with the highest percentages of infants returning for Penta 1 (89%), Penta 2 (87%), and Penta 3 (79%) vaccinations, Maiyama LGA was given the Penta Retention Rate Award.
• Bunza LGA received the Vaccine Supply Award because it had the lowest ratio of vaccine stockouts in comparison to disbursement sessions. 
• The Documentation Award went to Bagadu LGA, the LGA with the lowest percentage of issues, with just 15 cases identified in 29 supervision visits.
• Suru LGA was presented the Activities Award for conducting the highest number of community activities in the state in Q4 2023, a total of 478, comprising 432 targeted outreaches and 46 awareness sessions/campaigns.

In addition, this year’s Best NI-ABAE Manager Award of ₦30,000 was given to Nura Abdurrashid for his excellent leadership in supporting the LGA by boosting enrollments and immunization rates and managing mobilization, outreach, and stakeholder engagement.

We look forward to hosting this State and LGA award event annually and fostering a healthy competition as we work toward increasing vaccination rates and reducing zero-dose children in Kebbi State.
