In 2017, the All Babies program launched in Katsina. The program is active in 1,100 clinics across 33 of Katsina’s 34 LGAs. It is a privilege to partner with Katsina State in order to incentivize and promote childhood vaccinations. As of December 2023, more than 661,000 babies from Katsina have been enrolled in our program.
In 2023, NI-ABAE began holding State and LGA Award ceremonies in appreciation of our partners' achievements in increasing childhood immunization rates and saving lives. In December 2023, NI-ABAE staff and stakeholders—including the Executive Secretary of the State Primary Health Care Development Agency, a representative of the Commissioner for Health, traditional leaders, and partners such as WHO, UNICEF, and AFENET—gathered at the Paramount Event Center, Katsina, to present ₦150,000 awards in five categories to Katsina State’s highest-performing LGAs:
In addition, this year’s Best NI-ABAE Manager Award of ₦30,000 was given to Hadiza Aliyu Bala. Her team supported the LGA with a superb execution rate for outreaches and awareness activities and often exceeded program targets.
We look forward to hosting this State and LGA award event annually and fostering healthy competition as we work toward increasing vaccination rates and reducing zero-dose children in Katsina State.
